Privacy Policy

Effective: August 19, 2026 · Version 2026-08-19

Maker Forge ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

Your business data belongs to you.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account using Microsoft Sign-In, we may receive:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Microsoft authentication identifier

We use this information only to identify your account and provide access to Maker Forge.

We do not receive or store your Microsoft password.

We also maintain your Maker Forge profile, store memberships, subscription tier, and billing status.

Information You Enter

Maker Forge stores information that you choose to enter, including:

  • Stores
  • Products
  • Materials
  • Labor estimates
  • Pricing
  • Contacts
  • Suppliers
  • Cost information
  • Notes
  • Sales channels
  • Orders and order line items
  • Marketplace and shipping costs
  • Build parts
  • Other business-related information

This information is used to provide the costing, pricing, order, profitability, and reporting features you request.

Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Maker Forge does not store your credit card information.

Stripe maintains its own privacy and security policies.

Usage Information

If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, browser or device information, approximate location, and interactions with the public site.

Analytics is not loaded unless you select the optional analytics choice. We use it to understand and improve Maker Forge, not for advertising.

Cookies

Microsoft authentication uses browser storage and may use cookies to maintain sign-in. Maker Forge stores your cookie-consent choice in local storage. Optional Google Analytics storage is enabled only after consent.

Disabling essential browser storage may prevent authentication or other application features from working.

Etsy Integration Data

When you connect Etsy, Maker Forge currently requests the Etsy transactions_r permission. We use it to retrieve information authorized by you and permitted by Etsy's API.

This may include your Etsy shop identifier and name; receipts and order status; transaction and listing identifiers; product identifiers, titles, SKUs, variations, quantities, and prices; payment, fee, discount, tax, refund, and shipping amounts; and buyer or recipient information included with an order, such as name, email address, and delivery address.

Maker Forge uses this information to import and maintain order history, map Etsy transaction items to Maker Forge products, calculate costs and profitability, support shipping-cost workflows, and provide business reporting requested by the Etsy seller.

Etsy Member Information

We process Etsy Member personal information on behalf of the connected Etsy seller only to provide Maker Forge features requested by that seller.

We store imported information with the seller's Maker Forge account, restrict access through account and store controls, and use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect it.

We do not use Etsy Member information for unrelated advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it. We disclose it only to service providers needed to operate Maker Forge, when directed by the seller, or when legally required.

We request only the Etsy permission needed for current functionality. We do not request additional OAuth permissions simply because they might be useful later.

Disconnecting Etsy

You can disconnect Etsy from the Etsy Integration page. Disconnecting stops future synchronization and removes the stored Etsy access and refresh tokens.

Disconnecting does not automatically delete historical order records, product mappings, or other imported business records already stored in Maker Forge. Imported Etsy records remain available until an account/data deletion request is completed.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Maker Forge service
  • Secure your account
  • Improve the application
  • Process subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests
  • Communicate service, security, billing, or legal notices

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Ownership

The information you enter into Maker Forge belongs to you.

You retain ownership of your business information.

We use your data to store, process, calculate, display, back up, secure, and provide the functionality you request.

Sharing Information

We do not sell your information.

We only share information with trusted service providers necessary to operate Maker Forge, such as:

  • Microsoft (authentication)
  • Stripe (billing)
  • Cloud and database hosting providers
  • Google Analytics (only after analytics consent)
  • Etsy (when you choose to connect Etsy)

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their services.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information, including encrypted connections, authentication, access controls, and protected storage for Etsy OAuth credentials.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

Your account information remains stored while your account is active.

Business and imported marketplace records remain until you delete them through an available product control or request account/data deletion. Legal acceptance, billing, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute records may be retained when reasonably necessary or legally required.

Residual copies may remain in backups until they age out through normal backup processes.

Account and Data Deletion Requests

Request account and data deletion by emailing support@getmakerforge.com from your account email address.

We will verify the request, remove account data and integration credentials from active systems as applicable, and explain any records that must be retained for legal, billing, security, or dispute purposes. Imported Etsy records are included in the account data handled by the request.

Children's Privacy

Maker Forge is not intended for children under 18 years of age without permission from a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

We will update the effective date and version. Material changes may require you to acknowledge a new version before continuing to use authenticated features.
